Chassis

VOLVO FM chassis of the consists of a maximum front axle load, rear suspension, fifth wheel coupling heights, towing cross members, fuel tanks, AdBlue tanks, fifth wheels, Volvo Dynamic Steering, tandem axle lift, trailing axles, pusher axles and brakes.

Driveline

VOLVO FM driveline consists of engines, I-Shift, I-Shift with double clutch, I-Shift software, rear axles, rear axle ratios, driveline combinations and power take-offs.

Cabin

VOLVO FM has three types of cabins; the short cabin (FM-DAY) with an interior height of 157 cm, 114 cm, a sleeper cabin (FM-SLP) with an interior height 157 cm, 114 cm and a sleeper cabin (FM-LSLP) with lowered roof frees up additional cargo space above the cabin. Interior height 147 cm, 104 cm.

VOLVO DYNAMIC STEERING

From the first day, Volvo Dynamic Steering offers perfect stability at high speeds, as well as full control at low speeds. The latest version of the system has features that are very useful for everyday driving. It is now more customizable, helps you maintain your position on the road and can even intervene when it detects a risk of skidding or slipping.

I-Shift

I-Shift makes driving easier, safer and more comfortable. There is no difficult clutch and there is no lever to struggle with. Each gear change is perfectly synchronized. The simplicity of the system reduces driver fatigue and helps you stay focused on the road and the traffic around you. If you want to change gears manually, the button on the lever gives you direct control over every gear change.

Camber interface

When ordering your Volvo FM, we grant to the bodybuilder instant access to the VBI online portal (Volvo Bodybuilder Instructions). Thanks to precise 3D drawings, the bodybuilder can start working while we build the vehicle. The latter is perfectly prepared when it leaves the factory, which saves unnecessary reconstruction work. In other words, your vehicle is delivered faster, more cheaply and ready for use.

Volvo Diesel Engines

Optimized power and performance. Better energy efficiency and lower emissions. Our premium diesel engines develop superior pulling power. In addition they are also more environmentally friendly.

Volvo Gold contract

Everything about Volvo FM has been designed to always be operational. Absolutely everything. The Volvo Gold contract is our guarantee for 100% availability, thanks to the telematics gateway. In fact, we will compensate you if you break down and we are not able to get your vehicle back on the road within the agreed time.

Tandem Axle Lift

Better fuel efficiency. Better traction and a tighter turning radius. The lifting tandem axle allows you to disengage and raise one of the drive axles. You get the traction and payload of a four-wheel drive, combined with the traction and efficiency of a two-wheel drive.
