Volvo FMX in every detail

Chassis

VOLVO FMX chassis consists of a maximum front axle load, rear suspension, coupling height, tractors, towing beams, fuel tanks, AdBlue tanks, fifth wheels, individual front suspension, Volvo Dynamic Steering, trailed axles, pusher axles and brakes.

Driveline

VOLVO FMX driveline consist of engines, I-Shift, I-Shift with double clutch, I-Shift software, a powertronic, rear axles, axle ratios rear, driveline combinations and power take-offs.

Cabin

VOLVO FMX short cabin offers an ergonomic and comfortable driver's environment with an interior height of 157 cm, 114 cm in the engine tunnel.

Volvo Dynamic Steering

The Volvo Dynamic Steering system offers perfect stability at high speeds, as well as total control at low speeds. The latest version of the system has very useful features for everyday driving in difficult conditions. It is now more customizable, helps you maintain your position on the road and can even intervene when it detects a risk of skidding or slipping.

I-shift

Shift makes driving easier, safer and more comfortable. Each gear change is perfectly synchronized. The simplicity of the system reduces driver fatigue and helps you stay focused on the road and the traffic around you. If you want to change gears manually, the button on the lever gives you direct control over every gear change.

Coupling device

Bogging down is sometimes inevitable. In a Volvo FMX, you will not get bogged down for long. Equipped with a cast iron hook that can tow up to 32 tons, this vehicle is able to pull its own weight.

Rear Air Suspension

VOLVO FMX will give you better ground clearance, a shorter overhang, better traction and reduced vibrations, stabilizers in the center of the tandem as well as air suspension.

Front

Polypropylene coated steel bumper. Massive assembly made of energy absorbing materials. 3mm protection plate. Taken individually, each of the elements is incredibly robust. Combined, they make for the toughest vehicle we have ever built.

Volvo Diesel engine

Power. High torque, and very good fuel efficiency. Our premium diesel engines increase the productivity and fuel efficiency of your vehicle. They are also more environmentally friendly.

Long Distance Fuel Packages

Reducing fuel costs and emissions should not be a headache. This is why we have merged our dedicated fuel economy options into two different packages. Improvements are obtained from the first day and savings potential of 4% and 5% respectively.

Tandem Axle Lift

Better fuel efficiency. Better traction and a tighter turning radius. The lifting tandem axle allows you to disengage and raise one of the drive axles. You get the traction and payload of a tandem drivetrain, combined with the traction and efficiency of a single axle.

Automatic Traction Control

Mud, sand, steep hills and difficult conditions. When the task gets tough, you need all-wheel drive. But it is not necessary all the time. ATC (Automatic Traction Control) is a revolutionary feature that gives you all-wheel drive whenever you need it. The rest of the time, it improves maneuverability and fuel efficiency.

Integral Transmission

Our all-wheel drive is different. Activate it to navigate wet, muddy or sandy areas, or to climb steep slopes. Returned to a firm coating or a flatter portion, simply turn it off. This approach offers better energy efficiency. Our all-wheel drive is available in 4 × 4, 6 × 6 and 8 × 6 configurations. The 8 × 6 configuration with a front drive axle is now offered as standard.

Several Steering Axles

If you have to distribute the load over several axles, dual front axles are ideal. If you need to drive on one axle, discover the Tridem and negotiate tighter turns than ever before.

My Truck

The My Truck app gives you remote access to your Volvo vehicle. You can check the dashboard, set the desired temperature in the cabin, control the status of the door locks and react to alarms, wherever you are. The app is available for Volvo FH, Volvo FH16, Volvo FM and Volvo FMX. There is no easier way to improve your day-to-day operations.
